Thanks to everyone who came to our Dr. Seuss Family Night! It was great to see our students and families participating in all our Dr. Seuss activities throughout the night. Our students 1Fish, 2Fished for answers to math questions, listed their "bucket list" on the Cat's red and white striped Hat, listened to Dr. Seuss stories, created reading bookmarks, wrote All About Me books, and much much more! We had many green Oobleck covered hands leaving our gym that night!
Our teachers also shared information on how to increase your child's reading level while they are at home. If you are interested in any of the information that was handed out please see your child's teacher for their reading resources.
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go."-Oh, the Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss
Mrs. Smith opened the night by reading "My Many Colored Days" by Dr. Seuss. Mrs. Concus introduced our kindergarteners who performed a song as a tribute to their classmate, Carlos, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Our fourth graders shared a science experiment with their families. The experiment was called "Dancing Dots" and investigated static electricity.
Second grade teachers shared reading tips and strategies with parents. All of our teachers gave families tips how they can help their child's
reading level increase by practicing at home.
Would you attend an Outdoor Movie Night in the spring?
